Horny Hump Day—Alina and Amiran

Warning:  Not safe for work or appropriate for those under 18!

Welcome back to Horny Hump Day, where participants share 3 erotic sentences from a book or WIP. This week I’m introducing another couple from my WIP, Journey Through a Dark Forest. I’ve known Alina Petropashvili since my first Russian historical novel, when she was introduced as a 12-year-old orphanage girl in the spring of 1920, and she appeared a few times in the sequel, as a teenager, but my original plans for the third book hadn’t included any subplots with her. I’m really glad I decided to bring her back as an adult and make her the star of one of the storylines!

In the spring of 1937, in the thick of the Great Terror, Alina’s husband Amiran Koridze was arrested for being an outspoken Georgian nationalist and very anti-Stalin. Trying to protect his wife, Amiran ordered her to flee to nearby Armenia and get in touch with some old orphanage friends, and then to get to Isfahan Province, Iran, where some old friends of his would take care of them. Alina made her way to safety with her friends, never expecting to see her husband again.

In the summer of 1941, she found him in the Fereydan bazaar in a severely disfigured state, after enduring four years of daily torture before finally escaping and going all the way to Iran on foot, over the Alborz Mountains. It’s now September, their 14th anniversary, and with the house to themselves for a few hours, they figure out a way to make love without compromising Amiran’s healing process or making him feel like less of a man.

Amiran doesn’t protest when Alína gently maneuvers him out of his clothes.  He enjoys his wife’s show of removing her clothes too much to feel emasculated by not having the strength to do it himself.  In spite of all the dressings and scars all over his body, it still feels good when she touches him.
