Welcome back to Horny Hump Day, where participants share 3 erotic sentences from a book or WIP. This week I’m introducing one of my favorite couples from my current WIP, Valentina Kuchma and Rodion (Rodya) Duranichev. They’re just so cute and sweet together. Valentina has been around since my first Russian historical novel, when she was one of the littlest orphanage girls, and Rodya first appeared in the second book, as one of the students of antagonist Boris, but their coupling in the third book was a total surprise. It’s now Halloween Eve 1938, and Valentina and Rodya, now both 22, have been scared by The War of the Worlds radio broadcast. Rodya’s roommate and best friend Patya has gone down into the basement with his girlfriend, Valentina’s cousin Vladlena. With the loft all to themselves, and thinking this is their last night on Earth, Valentina suggests they might as well enjoy themselves for the first and only time in their lives.

Without waiting for clarification, Ródya kisses her a little more deeply than usual.  Valentína responds in kind and runs her hands along the outside of his shirt, shuddering a little as he pets her back.  As he slips his hands under her blouse, she raises her arms and lets him pull it off.

  1. That War of the Worlds broadcast caused a true panic. I love the way you wove the historical event into your story, and I can imagine more than one couple opting to take full advantage of what they believed would be their last night on earth. Great snippet, Carrie Anne.

  2. You definitely have a handle on historic events. That was a creepy situation. There’s a certain piquancy to this sexy scene due to the protagonists’ fright. Well done!
