This week’s snippet for Six Sentence Sunday is from my Russian novel sequel. It’s near the start of Chapter 23, “Death of Valentino,” and everyone is trying to convince the very unpopular Anastasiya to stay on Long Island instead of going home to stand vigil outside the hospital. Of course, she has no qualms about leaving her young bastard son Dmitriy behind.
“I take it you’re leaving Mítya behind while you go and pray outside the hospital for some actor you’ve never met?” Lyuba asks.
“Of course. There are two nannies plus Katrin to take care of him for me. Since when do I even have an active role in his childcare?”
“So some actor matters more to you than your own son,” Eliisabet says. “Nice to know you’ve got your priorities straight.”
