Horny Hump Day—Vera and Vsevolod

Warning: Not safe for work or appropriate for those under 18!

Happy New Year! This week for Horny Hump Day, I’m introducing one of the couples of my current WIP, my third Russian historical novel, which is set between 1933-48 in a variety of locations in North America, the Soviet Union, and Europe. One of the love stories of the saga is between Vera Lebedeva (a stepsister of female lead Lyuba) and Vsevolod Smirnov, whose younger brother is married to Vera’s favorite sister.

Vsevolod immediately fell for Vera when he came to New York in April 1933, but it took somewhat longer for Vera to realize she had feelings for him in return. At 28, she was considered a spinster, and resigned to the thought of never marrying. Vsevolod, at 26, also was despairing of ever marrying, since he came from a small Siberian town without a lot of eligible prospects.

The Fourth of July is their seventh date, and when Vsevolod asks for a goodnight kiss in her apartment, Vera agrees to give him a little lesson. Little does he realize that his first kiss is going to turn into a lot more!

When he finally feels emboldened enough to try kissing her back, he puts his arms around her.  He isn’t expecting her to pull him down on top of her and to slip her tongue into his mouth.  These incredible new sensations increase in intensity when Véra begins moaning softly, the vibrations caressing his mouth like electrical currents.

***

For anyone curious about their names, Vsevolod means “to rule all,” and Vera means “faith.”

  1. Wow that name is a mouth full. But I love new and unusual names. Now, speaking of mouths full. I love the sweetness you weave through your very sensual snippets.

  2. [...] Jenna Jaxon 2.  Kathryn R. Blake 3.  Patricia Green Books 4.  Carrie-Annes Magick Theatre 5.  Hotter Than Blood Erotica 6.  Grineldas Piping Hot Plume [...]

  3. Carrie Anne, very unusual to read a snippet in present tense, and your characters’ names are unique to say the least. Your snippets open a whole new world for me.

Thanks! I started my first Russian novel in ’93, way before present tense became the huge trend it is today, and after so many years, I couldn’t ever imagine redoing my Russian novels in past tense. It creates such a mood of immediacy, tension, and drama that seems perfect for the various storylines.

  4. I love the character’s names and the scene you are setting up. Wonderful addition to today’s HHD.

  5. Jenna Jaxon says:

Vera is a hot little vixen in today’s snippet! Love your names and the sweet-hot feeling of the scene. Great job!
